Dr. Abby Degaust is from Woodstock, New Brunswick. She attended the University of Maine for her undergraduate degree where she played Division I hockey. After her undergraduate degree she moved to Boston and worked for a Harvard Medical School research lab doing Haematology and Oncology research. From there she decided that she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry, so she attended Dalhousie University where she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2017. Abby was class Valedictorian and won many awards such as the 2017 Dr. Frank Woodbury Memorial Prize, 2017 Canadian Dental Association Student Leadership Award, and 2017 CFAO Dr. Norman Levine Undergraduate Student Award to name a few. Abby continues to pursue leadership in dentistry and is on several New Brunswick Dental Society committees including the Peer Review Committee, Prescription Monitoring Committee and Public Education Committee. She won an award of merit from the New Brunswick Dental Society in 2021 for her leadership role in the Fredericton area.

Abby lives in Fredericton with her husband Tim and their two kids Darby and Broderick. They also have a dog (Gus) and cat (Annie). Abby continues to find time to give back to the community and has been participating in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program in Fredericton since 2018.

Dr. Degaust is dedicated to ensuring each and every patient has an enjoyable dental experience and encourages open and honest communication with her patients. She looks forward to continuing to get to know the current patients and meeting new faces as well.

Dr. Myles graduated in 1994 from Dalhousie University with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Although he practices all aspects of Dentistry, his personal niche is in the realm of surgical extractions, especially wisdom teeth and root canal procedures.

Dr. Myles is a keen listener and truly values each client’s voice and what they have to say.

In his free time, you can find Dr. Myles with his family, teaching adult Sunday School classes, and tinkering in the construction of houses.

Jaime has been working at the Family Dental Centre since June 2009. She is a registered Dental Hygienist who graduated Valedictorian from Dalhousie University in 2007. Prior to becoming a Dental Hygienist, Jaime was a Level II Dental Assistant for 7 years. As the child of a military family, Jaime has been fortunate enough to have lived all over Canada.

Her family is originally from Cape Breton, N.S., where she visits often. She now calls Fredericton her home. Jaime enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to travel, hike, bike, rollerblade, cross country ski, and snow shoe.

She is looking forward to helping you achieve a wonderful smile and excellent oral health for life.

Jill is a registered dental hygienist and a recent addition to The Family Dental Centre. Jill was born and raised in Fredericton,NB

She attended the University of North Texas for her undergraduate degree where she competed in Division I Cross Country and Track and Field. She later attended Dalhousie University graduating with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2012.

In Jill’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her golden retriever, Ruby. She also enjoys staying active, gardening, and live music.

Kim has been a Dental Assistant with the Family Dental Centre since June 1996 and happily continued working for Dr. Degaust after she bought the practice from Dr. Myles.

She has dedicated her professional life to making patients feel comfortable and making sure they understand the procedure that is being performed. Her skills and dedication to her job are a great asset to the practice. Kim loves her job and treats all her patients like family.

Kim has two loving daughters, and now is also blessed with a beautiful granddaughter. She is looking forward to slowing down, so she can spend more time with her loved ones and thrift shop for decor items for her company Simply Stunning Wedding and all occasion decor rentals.

Ute came to Canada in 1989 and has had the pleasure of working at the Family Dental Centre since 1999.

She is the first person you meet when you come in for your appointment and is happy to help you with your bookings, your insurance forms and claim payments. Her goal is to see everyone have a positive dental visit.

Ute studied Home Economics and has a Business Diploma from Germany. She met her husband Mark when he was stationed in Lahr, Germany. They are blessed with three wonderful children and five grandkids whom she loves to the moon and back. In her free time, Ute loves to sew, quilt, read, cook and garden.

Something you may not know about Ute is that she loves teaching cooking and sewing classes.

Lindsay is a registered Dental Hygienist and became a member of the Family Dental Centre team in 2017.

Lindsay was born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick. After high school, Lindsay began her education at St. Thomas University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Lindsay later graduated with a diploma in Dental Hygiene from Dalhousie University (2013) and loves her role as a hygienist.

In Lindsay’s free time, she enjoys cooking, music and game nights with friends and family. She also loves being near the water and is happiest at the beach.

Lindsay hopes to bring a sense of comfort through her compassion and empathy with a sprinkle of humour to all her patients.

Holly graduated from The Dental Assistant’s Academy of New Brunswick in 2002 and has been assisting ever since. She has ample experience working with a variety of dentists and assisting with many different dental procedures. Her favorite part of the job is talking with patients, keeping them comfortable and making sure they understand the recommended treatment.

Holly is originally from Newfoundland, but resides in Fredericton Junction. She has two daughters Haylie and Lily. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and sports.

Kylie has been with the Family Dental Centre since 2022. After beginning as a floater, Kylie decided to study at CBBC, where she graduated with honours and became a registered Dental Assistant in 2024. She also has a background in administrative work and has worked in customer service for 16 years. She loves connecting with patients and making them as comfortable as possible.

Kylie is originally from Ontario, but was raised in PEI. She moved to New Brunswick in 2015 and now calls it home with her husband and daughter. She enjoys going for hikes, trying new foods, and spending time with her family.

Kylie is dedicated to ensuring all patients have a great experience visiting the clinic.
